The
new 991 Turbo / S is an amazing supercar of its own right. It is,
however, lacking that punch of power and exhaust rumble we have grown to
expect from a Porsche Supercar. Although the vehicle’s performance and
sound is somewhat reminiscent of the turbos from previous
generations, in stock form it is missing the growl and grunt that this
3.8L flat-6 turbo power plant is capable of exuding. Our carefully
engineered and thoroughly tested Performance System adds that
intoxicating exhaust sound while adding the additional power punch
performance enthusiasts crave.
The heart of the Evolution MotorSports engine performance System is the EVOMSit
Intelligent Engine Control Module (ICM). The ICM integrates seamlessly
with the OEM electronics which increases boost pressure to improve the
power and torque of the turbocharged 991 3.8L engine. Fitting the ICM is
simply made through a “plug and play” wire harness with OEM connectors
for a trouble-free installation.
When
designing our lightweight ClubSport exhaust system for the 991 turbo /
S, our goals were simple. The path to get there, however, was tedious.
Reengineering the OEM exhaust took careful design, craftsmanship and
perseverance in order to produce something worthy of this supercar. Our
exhaust system allows the engine to “sing” with melodic exhaust notes
that one would expect to hear from this 3.8L flat-6 Porsche turbo
engine. The reduction of backpressure from our exhaust enables the
turbos to spool up faster and helps to increase overall power and
torque.
The final components to complete our EVT640
Performance system are the addition of our billet boost recirculation
valves. We developed this product over 15 years ago to replace the OEM
plastic Bosch valves which have been prone to failures, causing loss of
boost pressure. Our valves have been a valuable upgrade throughout the
years on many Porsche engines including the 996TT and 997.2TT. They are
much more robust than the stock valves and are able to handle the
increased boost pressures from our performance system without leaking.
Our direct replacement CNC machined bullet aluminum valves carry a
lifetime warranty.
Performance System with 640 HP / 665 TQ is a simple yet effective way
to improve the performance of the 3.8L Porsche 991 Turbo / S. Our
rigorous testing, attention to details and stringent quality control
make this performance system in a league of its own. We designed and
tested many components for this vehicle that didn’t make it into this
performance system because they didn’t add to the overall power
objective we had in mind for this application. We only offer what works
and we don’t waste your time and money with parts just because we can
offer them to make a buck. That is not part of our business philosophy,
although there are plenty of these components currently offered in the
market. Included in the EVT640 performance system is all that is needed to achieve real, reliable performance without exaggerated power figures.
